Plymouth Albion end losing run in wintry conditions

London Scottish 9 Plymouth Albion 16

RFU Championship, Saturday 23rd March

A ten game run of defeats finally came to an end for Plymouth Albion on Saturday with victory against London Scottish on Saturday.

Snowy conditions made the going tough, but a try - the only one of the game - from number 8, Aaron Carpenter, and some heroic second half defending, secured the much needed win. It also all but secures Albion's place in the RFU Championship, with Doncaster adrift at the foot of the table and needing a remarkable finish to have a chance of catching Plymouth an the other clubs near the bottom.

Declan Cusack scored three penalties at the Richmond Athletic Ground for Plymouth and a former Albion player, James Love, scored the same number for the home side. The converted penalty proved the difference and  some cheer against the snow and biting wind.

A trip to Bristol on Sunday 31st is the next fixture for Plymouth as the season's end draws near.
