Match Day Preview: York City v Plymouth Argyle

York City v Plymouth Argyle

League Two, Saturday 1st April, 3pm

Plymouth travel north for a potentally intense League Two relegation battle encounter at York's Bootham Crescent ground today.

Spurred on by their 1-0 victory in the Devon derby against Exeter on Saturday, Argyle could take another step towards safety by defeating a club who sit below them and in the bottom two relegation zone.

John Sheridan's side were deserving winners against Exeter but know they must re-focus as they remain precariously placed in a frantically tight relegation dogfight.

The Yorkshire club, managed by the former Norwich and Northern Ireland boss Nigel Worthington, have not won in the league since New Year's Day though did take a point from their game at Bristol Rovers on Saturday. Plymouth meanwhile are the form team having taken all three points from each of their last three games and suffered only one defeat in their last six.

With Jason Banton on heroic goalscoring form for the Pilgrims, fans will be hoping their side can make a significant move clear of some of their relegation rivals today.
