6-a-side Football League expands

The official community 6-a-side football leagues in Plymouth are proving so popular that it will be expanding in the next fortnight, the organisers have announced.

The competitions, run by Leisure Leagues – Europe’s largest providers of 6 a side football – takes place at Devonport School For Boys on Sunday, Monday and Thursday and staff admitted they were delighted with how things had taken off.

The competitions already sees just over 500 local people enjoying the competition and keeping fit each week, with the winners receiving giant trophies and medals, with the expansion set to add around another 50 to the number.

All equipment and is provided, and the games refereed by a qualified local officials and all profits are donated to charities and good causes including Cancer Research and The Dogs Trust.
