Thelma Hulbert Gallery (THG) has revealed the prize winners of the THG OPEN 2025 at their exhibition launch.

The winners of the THG Open 2025 exhibition were announced at the opening event attended by over 140 visitors.

The prize winners were selected from 104 finalists whose work is exhibited at the gallery. The gallery received over 460 entries from their open call.

The Main Prize was awarded to artist Mellony Tapper for her work 'Trousseau'. Mellony received the prize of £500 generously donated by sponsors Bearnes Hampton & Littlewood and is also awarded a solo exhibition at the prestigious gallery.

Two of Mellony Taper's works were selected for the exhibition. Mellony is an interdisciplinary artist, whose work has been exhibited widely across the UK and is regularly selected for exhibitions.

Following the birth of her daughter, lacking both time and space to make physical work, she turned to her lens and screen: making digital, photographic works that manifested themselves in versions of the memorabilia, fabrics and domestic objects of a home; works that reference family photos, clothing, household objects and linens.

The 'Best Emerging Artist Under 25' prize was awarded to Lucie Sivier-Voller for her work 'Tapestry of Dance'. The £250 prize money was also generously sponsored by Bearnes Hampton and Littlewood.

Lucie is a young artist based in East Devon and London, currently in her first year of study for an undergraduate degree in Fine Art Painting at the University of the Arts London (UAL) Camberwell.  She works in a range of mediums including oils, ink, charcoal and pyrography. Her work often seeks to create soulful connections between the subject and the viewer, depicting emotion is important to her.
