As Wimbledon fever grips the nation, Dogs Trust Ilfracombe has named some of its canine residents after Wimbledon champions past and present in a bid to find them loving new homes.

‘Wimbledogs’ Anna, Laura, Murray, Jamie, Venus, Serena, Martina, Rafael, Steffi, Roger, and Boris are new arrivals to the rehoming centre and are all hoping to take game, set and match in the form of a loving new home this Summer.

The team at the West Down-based rehoming centre are hoping dog-lovers will tear themselves away from watching the ups and downs of the tennis tournament and serve up an ace home with lots of fuss, cuddles and most importantly, love.

Rogan Quinn, Dogs Trust Ilfracombe Rehoming Centre Assistant Manager, says:

“They are all very sweet natured and just like the best tennis players they are all very different in their game plans. But the one thing they have in common is the desire to find a winning home.

“Like their Wimbledon counterparts, they enjoy keeping their carers on their toes with a runaround with a ball and enjoy keeping up their training regime in return for a tasty treat.

“They all have different needs but we would love it if they could all find their special someone in time to watch the Wimbledon champions lift their trophies.”

If you can provide these ‘Wimbledogs’  with the champion home they are looking for, please call 0300 303 0292 or visit them at Dogs Trust Ilfracombe, Hazeldene, West Down, Ilfracombe, EX34 8NU .
