This summer, Theatre Royal Plymouth (TRP) is thrilled to be hosting the West End and Broadway hit musical Hamilton for a six-week run, from 30 July to 06 September. Alongside this landmark production, TRP has announced a summer festival in its scene dock – the outdoor area situated at the rear of the theatre.

The programme, created in collaboration with South West based artists Trifle Gathering Productions, Azza Gasim and TRP, will bring together the local community in a family-friendly setting, to enjoy an array of entertainment, including live music and comedy, as well as providing a space to gather and enjoy the summer evenings.

The pop-up destination will open from 07 August 2025, hosting activity for four weeks every Thursday to Sunday until 30 August 2025. As a part of the programme there will be a mixture of pre-booking and walk-up events.

Creative Community Co-ordinator for ‘Summer in the Scene Dock’ Azza Gasim, said:

“I am thrilled to be working with the team from TRP on this exciting programme alongside Hamilton this summer.

“My hope is that by collaborating with communities around the city, we will demonstrate that everyone is welcome at TRP.

“This is the chance to celebrate the diversity of Plymouth through food, music and performance, and give a whole new perspective on what we do and who we are for.”
