Path, the Plymouth-based homelessness charity, is inviting runners of all abilities to join Team Path Power in the Plymouth Half Marathon & 10K on Sunday 17 May 2026. Whether you’re an experienced runner or taking on your first race, this year’s event is a chance to challenge yourself while raising essential funds and awareness for people experiencing homelessness in our community.

Participants who commit to fundraising for Path will receive 50% off their race entry, a Path running vest or T-shirt to wear on race day, and ongoing support to help them reach their fundraising goals.

By joining Team Path Power, runners help fund vital services including emergency outreach, housing advice and support, access to private rented accommodation, and tailored resettlement assistance. Path’s work supports people in crisis to move toward safe, stable homes — transforming lives one step at a time.

Darren’s journey highlights the life-changing difference Path makes, he says: “There were times I didn’t think I’d ever get off the streets. Path gave me a base, somewhere safe. I can cook, I can sleep, I can feel normal again. It might not sound a lot, but to someone who’s been on the streets for years, it means everything. Path gave me a place to live — and a reason to hope.”

Runners taking part in the Plymouth Half Marathon & 10K not only experience one of the UK’s most scenic race routes — starting and finishing on Plymouth Hoe and winding through the vibrant streets and waterfront — they also become part of a community dedicated to social change.

Jon has signed up to Path Power and says, “I have been doing the Plymouth Soup Run for about 3 years now. In this time, I have seen first-hand the increasing need for support for homeless and vulnerable people. I am amazed by the fantastic work that Path do, to provide support for these people, many of them vulnerable, some with complex needs, but all just needing support. You never know who are you are going to meet on The Soup Run, but I am glad I can do my bit to give a something back to society and through running the Plymouth Half Marathon to raise funds for Path I am pleased I can do that bit more to help them with the amazing work they do to support those most in need in Plymouth.”

Path has been at the forefront of tackling homelessness in Plymouth for decades, responding to rising need with practical, compassionate services. With homelessness on the rise locally and winter conditions posing serious risks for people sleeping rough, fundraising efforts like Team Path Power are more important than ever.

Interested runners can sign up for Team Path Power and claim their discounted charity entry via Path’s website. Supporters can also follow and share the charity’s Facebook and social media posts to help spread the word.
