Sidmouth project wins at RICS South West regional awards
The winners of the RICS Awards 2026 in the South West have been revealed and some of the most impressive recent building projects from the area are on the list.
The projects went head-to-head at a ceremony in Bristol where Sidmouth Independent Lifeboat Station was named winner of the community benefit project category.
The project involved the extension and refurbishment of Sidmouth Independent Lifeboat Station. Works were required primarily so that all lifesaving assets could be suitably housed within the same building, reducing launch and recovery time of the lifeboats.
The internal reconfiguration and refurbishment have dramatically improved circulation and the quality of spaces for the crew and visitors.
The RICS UK Awards showcase the most inspirational initiatives and developments in land, real estate, construction and infrastructure, recognising outstanding achievement, teamwork and companies. The winning projects at each of the regional awards ceremonies will go on to represent their region at the UK Grand Final on Thursday 22nd October.

- Trowbridge Integrated Care Centre project – Project of the Year and Public Sector project
- Forum – Gloucester - Commercial Development project
- Merchant House, Launceston – Heritage project
- Provelio - OPAL Development Team - Outstanding contribution to Surveying by an SME
- Sherborne House, Sherborne - Refurbishment/Revitalisation project
- Sidmouth Independent Lifeboat - Community Benefit project
- The Murdoch and Trevithick Development, Redruth - Residential Development project
The event was held at Circomedia in Portland Square, Bristol on Thursday 23rd July.
