Sausage Sunday at Coldharbour!
Coldharbour Field Kitchen is holding a wooftastic event on August 4 and everyone is welcome!
‘Sausage Sunday’ is a chance for a dog-friendly meet up where visiting pooches can enjoy a puppachino, Scoops ice cream or a yummy Coldharbour pork sausage.
Coldharbour owners Beth Ashfield and Andrea Broadhurst are passionate about their pooches, and both are proud owners of dachshunds Doris, Elvie and Nellie.
Beth’s daughter Kitty volunteers as a fundraiser for DMT Dachshund Rescue, a UK based registered charity which rescues dachshunds from kill shelters and the meat trade in Asia, and transports them to new loving homes in the UK.
Beth says “Small dogs have become increasingly popular in countries like China, and many breeding facilities have been set up. Sadly, once the dogs are unable to breed, they are sold into the meat trade. So we’re raising funds to help them rescue and care for more dogs.”
Fundraising will be through a raffle, collecting tin - and Kitty will be on hand to sell DMT merchandise including bandanas, dog tags and pin badges.
Sausage Sunday is from 3 to 5pm at Coldharbour Field Kitchen, Slade Road, Ottery St Mary. As well as dog-friendly treats, the normal ‘human’ menu will be available all day, with wood fired pizzas from 1pm to 8pm.
“While we adore sausage dogs, you don’t have to own a dachshund to join in the fun, all breeds are invited!”
