Officers investigating a hit and run collision between a car and a pedestrian would like to hear from any car garages which have repaired a green vehicle, possible an Audi, since the incident on 2 August.

Police believe the car will have sustained damage to its front passenger wing.

The pedestrian, a 33-year-old local man, suffered two broken legs in the incident and remains in hospital undergoing treatment.

The collision occurred at around 4.20pm. The victim was walking along Armada Street in the North Hill area of the city when he was struck by the car, which then drove off.

A police spokesman said: “This is an unusual incident, the road is a side road in a residential area and we are hoping that someone has witnessed this – particularly given the time of day when this occurred.”

Anyone with information which could help lead to the identification of the driver is asked to call police on 101 quoting reference 667 2nd August 2013.
