Police appeal following Barbican bar assault

Police in Plymouth are appealing for information following an assault in the Barbican area.

The incident took place in Bar Rakuda on Quay Road on the Barbican just after 1am on 7 September 2013.

The victim, a 23-year-old local man, was assaulted in an apparently unprovoked attack on the dance floor by an unknown man who punched him to the head from behind.

The assault left the victim, who has not been named, with serious injuries including a gash above his eye which required medical treatment.

The victim is described as 5’ 7" tall, of slim build, with short, French cropped dark hair. He was wearing jeans, a grey jumper with a grey bomber jacket over the top with a hood on it.

Police say there is no description of the suspect currently available.
