Plymouth Yacht Haven has been awarded the highest honour in the marine industry, the prestigious Five Gold Anchors by The Yacht Harbour Association (TYHA), for the second time in succession.

The Gold Anchor award rates the quality, level of service and overall standard of a marina’s offering. Perceived as the pinnacle for all marinas, Plymouth Yacht Haven received the highest possible marks across various categories following the rigorous audit and testing process. The Gold Anchor rating is the equivalent of the star system used to rate hotels and attractions.

This winter, Plymouth Yacht Haven has invested nearly £400,000 to create luxury, hotel-quality shoreside facilities. Once finished, Marina Manager Laura Whinney hopes that her facilities will “rival the best in the UK for quality and luxury”.

Discussing her Five Gold Anchor Award, Laura commented, “This award is truly for our staff all of whom work hard to treat every boat as though it is their own in order to provide the best possible service. We’re delighted that the British Marine Federation and TYHA have recognised that Plymouth Yacht Haven is far more than just a place to keep your boat”.

Plymouth, Britain’s Ocean City, now has four marinas with the highest ranking including Plymouth Yacht Haven. Discussing Plymouth’s credentials, Laura commented, “The quality of marine services in Plymouth is outstanding. We are located in some of the finest sailing grounds in Europe and our city hosts some of the world’s best sailors and races. It is fantastic that all the city’s marinas are of such a high standard”.

Yacht Havens Group is proud to fly the Five Gold Anchor Flag at three marinas; Plymouth Yacht Haven, Largs Yacht Haven and Lymington Yacht Haven.
