Police in Plymouth are seeking a man who entered  flats in Hanover Court, on the Barbican in Plymouth and appeared to target an elderly lady during a distraction type burglary.

The man entered the flats between 8.30pm and 9.30pm on Friday 15th November 2013 through a communal door. He then knocked on the victim’s door and invited himself in for a drink, persistently telling the occupant that he knew her.

Whilst the victim, a woman in her seventies, was making a drink in the kitchen the suspect left the flat taking her handbag and its contents, which included bank cards and around £100 cash, with him.

The suspect is described as a white man, aged late forties to early fifties, of slim build and about 5ft 10/11ins in height. He has dark brown short hair and was wearing a light blue lightweight, hip length jacket with blue jeans and black trainers. It is thought that he may have had a moustache.
