Man crushed between two vehicles dies

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man died when he was crushed between two vehicles.

At around 6.20pm yesterday (Tuesday 29 April) an incident took place on Glenholt Road, Plymouth involving a stationary Landrover Defender with a flatbed  trailer attached, which was carrying a Volkswagon Transporter van.

A 25-year-old man from the Hull area had collected the Volkswagon Transporter van from an address in Glenholt Road and was in the process of loading it onto the trailer when an incident occurred causing the man to be crushed between the vehicles.

The man was taken to Derriford Hospital but sadly died of his injuries.

Next of kin have been informed but a formal identification has not yet taken place.

The Health and Safety Executive has been informed of the incident.

Sgt Jane Corkhill from the Serious Collisions Investigation Unit said: “We are very keen to speak to anyone that was in the Glenholt Road area between 5.30pm and 6.30pm that evening who may have witnessed the lead up to this tragic event or the actual incident itself.”
