Luxury food and beverage brand, Cartwright & Butler, has donated 4,500 English Breakfast tea bags and almost 50 boxes of biscuits to University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust.

With staff at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust are working tirelessly in the fight against COVID-19, the donations from Cartwright & Butler aim to not only boost the morale of the staff, but to also show gratitude for their hard work in keeping Plymouth safe.

Ann James, Chief Executive of University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust, said: "As the local acute hospital, the Trust became the focal point for a huge amount of goodwill from the local community during the immediate response to COVID-19. This ranged from little notes and displays of gratitude, through to kind donations of goods and services.

"The outpouring of kindness to our staff has been truly awe-inspiring and we are incredibly thankful for the amazing generosity shown. Thank you.”

Tony Arnett, managing director at Cartwright & Butler, said:  “Every day the NHS staff at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust put themselves at risk in order to keep the country safe and well. It was our pleasure to donate our teas and biscuits for staff to enjoy during their breaks. Hopefully, this will offer a welcome moment of escape from their incredibly hard work.

“It’s excellent to hear that all of the staff enjoyed our donation of products, and we hope that they stay safe.”
