Love your parks in Plymouth

A day of activities is taking place to mark Love Your Parks day – a celebration of all the activities you can do for free outdoors.

The event takes place at the Central Park Events Field (in front of the Life Centre), on Saturday 3 September from 11am to 4pm.

A range of activities are taking place throughout the day. At 12pm there will be ‘Wild Moves’, a one mile walk or run around the park and at 1pm, a  three mile SkyRide – the first 100 to register will receive a free Nature Plymouth tote bag. and anyone who comes dressed as a wild creature will be in with a chance to win sports gear and games.

Councillor Mike Leaves, Cabinet Member for the Environment said: “This is a great opportunity for the local community to come together and celebrate all the fantastic activities you can do outside for free in our parks and green spaces in Plymouth, so come along – you might even win a prize.”

He added: “Getting out in the fresh air and keeping active can improve both your physical and mental health and wellbeing so this will be a great opportunity to try some outdoor activities.”

Activities throughout the day include:

Build a bug hotel
Play pop up sports
Den building
Nordic walking
Nature Games, crafts and trails
Storytelling and poetry
