Staff have said a special thank you to 4Louis for donating a cuddle cot to Derriford Hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

The cuddle cot, also known as a cold cot, enables families who sadly lose their babies at or just after birth, more precious time with them.

Jo Kirby, Family Support Sister/Neonatal Outreach Lead, said: “We are so thankful to 4Louis for donating this cuddle cot to our unit. We are always looking for ways to ensure we offer the best possible care and support for the families of babies who have sadly passed away on the unit.

“Being able to offer them the use of this cuddle cot will mean that they will be able to keep their baby with them for longer after they have passed away, should they wish to.”

Charleine Wain visited our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit to present the donation, on behalf of 4Louis. She said: “I am truly touched by this amazing charity. It does so much for families across the UK and their generosity is amazing.”

4Louis aims to offer support and help to families, to capture those lasting, precious memories of their baby. To find out more about the charity, please visit http://www.4louis.webs.com/
