ZEDprojects have secured seven acres of land near Dartmoor for the UK’s first ‘Zero Bills’ authentic eco-community (for more information, visit www.bickleigh-eco-village.com).

Bickleigh Down Eco Village will be a new zero energy village and exemplar sustainable community, which will act as a pilot project showing best practice for the future growth of the South West.

CornerstoneZED have been working with City of Plymouth council over a number of years to develop this exciting proposal.

We are hoping to convene a focus group of people who would be seriously interested in reserving a plot in this new community. These 'early adopters' could then help to shape the next stage of the design development and be involved in how they wanted to shape their community (e.g; allotments or grass, how to manage the woodland, cafe of pub, how to set up the residents/management group etc).

Would this kind of collaboration appeal to you?

It is a condition that all houses need to achieve a ‘Zero Bills’ or Code 6, specification. People can design their own home but within the constraints of the ZED system which achieves this standard. (see zedfactory.com and www.zerobillshome.com).

There will be a series of meetings of ‘early adopters when you will have an opportunity to meet the architects and the project team.

If this sounds good to you, e mail: charles@zedfactory.com for further details.
