Stagecoach South West is offering free travel for community volunteer groups delivering vital supplies across the county.

At this troubling time the bus operator wants to reward those community heroes who are helping people isolated at home and unable to travel. The offer for organised volunteer groups will help keep the volunteers moving as the South West prepares for a rise in cases of the virus.

With tightening Government guidelines being announced daily, those over 70 or with significant health conditions, are being asked to avoid unnecessary social contact with other people.

Stagecoach South West, Managing Director Mike Watson said “We know that there are lots of concerns about the current situation in the South West. As always our first priority is to protect the safety of our customers and our employees.

We are proud to serve our local community and we want to offer volunteers free travel on any of our buses to help complete vital tasks to keep the South West moving. We want to ensure vital links as well as rural communities remain connected.”

Groups of volunteers delivering supplies in the South West, who would like to know more about free travel, should contact Aisha O’connor, Marketing Manager by email, at: Aisha.oconnor@stagecoachbus.co.uk
