Flapjackery is celebrating a double win, with its Sidmouth and Lyme Regis shops picking up Gold in the Specialist Retailer/Deli category at the prestigious Taste of the West Awards, adding to its growing number of Gold-winning shops.

The awards are widely regarded as a benchmark for quality across the region, celebrating the very best producers, retailers and hospitality businesses. Securing Gold places both shops firmly among the South West’s leading independent food destinations.

The Sidmouth shop, managed by Philippa Ryan, and the Lyme Regis shop, led by Judith Quinn, were both praised by judges for their high standards, strong product offering and the overall experience they deliver to customers.

The anonymous Taste of the West judge said that in Flapjackery Lyme Regis: “They really have got their finger on the pulse here and it would be very difficult for me to make much in the

way of comment for the way forward. The staff are exceptional, the shop was beautifully clean, bright and welcoming, the products were displayed beautifully with a range for every discerning taste.”

Of course, it was the flapjacks that drew the most praise with the Sidmouth judge saying: “The flapjacks are very buttery, with a good ratio of topping to flapjack. The ingredients taste of very good quality and nothing tastes over processed/over sugared etc. The portions of everything are very good for the price. Everything was delicious.”

Flapjackery’s co-founder Carol Myott said: “This is a huge achievement for both teams. The Taste of the West Awards are incredibly well respected, so to see two of our shops recognised with Gold is something we are really proud of. It reflects the consistency, care and hard work that goes into every shop, every day.”

Flapjackery has built a reputation for its luxurious, gluten-free flapjacks, made using traditional methods and bold flavour combinations, with shops across the South West and beyond. Each location has its own local feel, shaped by the team behind it and the community around it.
