Five arrested and suspected drugs equipment seized

Police have arrested five men and seized suspected drugs equipment in Plymouth thanks to the actions of an off-duty officer.

The off-duty sergeant was in Ladysmith Road on Thursday afternoon (6 March) when he saw several men acting suspiciously.

Local units attended and two men were arrested nearby. A further three men, who had left the scene in a van, were arrested a short time later at Marsh Mills in Plymouth.

Officers entered a property in Ladysmith Road and seized the equipment.

Five men, aged 60, 33, 38, 26 and 31, and all from Plymouth, were arrested on suspicion of cannabis production. They remain in custody in Plymouth while police enquiries continue.
