Fire crews were called to a building fire at Nelson Gardens in Plymouth early this morning.

Two fire appliances from Camels Head, one from Greenbank and the aerial ladder platform from Crownhill attended the incident.

Two men and one woman were led to safety from the building suffering smoke inhalation. An ambulance was called, and fire service personnel administered first aid and oxygen therapy until their arrival.

Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service have said the fire was accidental, and involved an extractor fan.

Crews used four BA, one hose reel jet and positive pressure ventilation to deal with the incident.

The property suffered smoke damage throughout.
