Elderly woman dies following Plymouth crash

Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious traffic collision in Plymouth following the death of an 87-year-old woman.

Emergency services were called to Notte Street at 11.20am on Wednesday 6 January following the collision between a mobility scooter and a grey Seat Toledo.

The elderly Plymouth woman on the mobility scooter sustained serious injuries and was taken to Derriford Hospital where she died on Sunday [10 January].

The male driver of the Toledo was uninjured in the collision.

An investigation is being carried out by the Plymouth Serious Collisions Investigation Unit.

Officers are appealing for information from anyone who witnessed the collision at the pedestrian crossing at the junction with Armada Way.

They are particularly interested to speak to any motorists, taxi or bus drivers, who may have captured the collision on a dashboard camera.
