Dogs Trust Ilfracombe is asking potential adopters to consider giving larger dogs a forever home.

The charity, which has a centre in North Devon, has a number of larger breeds, including Greyhounds and Lurchers, who need forever homes.

And these big dogs have lots of love to give any potential owners.

Elise Watson, Centre Manager at Dogs Trust Ilfracombe, said: “We want all our dogs to find a forever home, but recently we’ve noticed bigger dogs, such as Greyhounds and Lurchers, are remaining at the centre for a long time, or being passed over.

“We understand that people might be short on space, and that the cost-of-living is taking its toll, however these big dogs deserve a chance.

If you have a dog shaped hole in your life this Valentine’s Day, please consider one of our bigger dogs - they are large but full of love!”

One dog, who is looking for his forever home, is Bean

Bean is an excitable eight-year-old Rhodesian Ridgeback who is looking for an adult only home.

A puppy in an adult dogs body, Bean is always happy to meet his human pals, and will ‘mouth’ them with friendly intentions.

When on walks, he loves having a sniff and paddling in water.

Bean is looking to be the only pet in the home, but would benefit from having a few quiet, calm, dogs to socialise with when out and about.

Bean will sometimes play with toys, and he prefers soft squeaky ones. His absolutely loves his food and treats.
