Dogs Trust Ilfracombe is appealing for a home for Ellie, a Spaniel cross who has been overlooked by hundreds of potential new owners despite her sister finding a loving home of her own.

The 18-month-old pooch has been at the rehoming centre for six months. But despite her near identical sister Mollie finding her forever home back in October, Ellie is yet to find her special someone.

Ellie is a happy, healthy dog with one blue eye and one brown eye which is simply due to less pigment in her blue eye, known as Heterochromia in humans, and it doesn’t affect her sight. The team at Dogs Trust Ilfracombe are now hoping that she will catch the eye of a loving new owner soon.

Elise Watson Rehoming Centre Manager at Dogs Trust Ilfracombe comments: “Ellie and Mollie arrived at the rehoming centre at the same time but weren’t necessarily looking to be rehomed together. They are both similar in temperament and personality so we don’t think there is any reason that Ellie should be left behind. It’s baffling as she is a wonderful dog and we think her blue eye is really striking!

“Ellie is a fun, active and playful girl. She is great with other dogs and loves company so her ideal home would be one with another dog who can keep her company, help her to settle in and play endless games of chase with her. She is looking for an adult-only home and owners who are prepared to come and meet her a few times first to start to build a bond. We’re hoping someone will come forward and offer her a happy home, just like her sister Mollie.”

If Ellie has caught your eye and you think you could give her the loving home she deserves, please get in touch with Dogs Trust Ilfracombe on 0300 303 0292.
