Devon Site Manager picks up prestigious NHBC Quality Award
Mark Hambleton, site manager at the Mill Gardens development in Cullompton, has been honoured by the National House Building Council (NHBC) with the prestigious Pride in the Job Quality Award, recognising his outstanding commitment to homebuilding excellence.
Mark is among 15 site managers from Persimmon Homes recognised in 2025 for their outstanding work in delivering quality new homes. At Mill Gardens, Mark is supported by assistant site manager Jeremy Roberts.
This is the pair’s second consecutive Pride in the Job award for their work at Mill Gardens.
Mill Gardens in Cullompton, aims to meet the high demand for housing in the area, bringing 200 homes to the area for local people once complete.
The housebuilder has already committed over £2m towards a new primary school, contributions to early years, secondary and special needs education, a doctors’ surgery expansion, and a town centre road relief contribution as part of its plans.
The Pride in the Job competition is highly regarded in the homebuilding industry, serving as a benchmark for outstanding quality and performance among site managers.
All site managers on NHBC Buildmark warranty-registered sites are eligible to compete. Quality Award winners advance to the Seal of Excellence Award stage, with the opportunity to compete for Regional Awards and the ultimate Pride in the Job Supreme Awards in January 2026.
Commenting on the award, Mark said:
“It’s a real honour to be recognised by the NHBC, and I’m incredibly proud of the whole team at Mill Gardens. We put care and attention into every detail to ensure we’re delivering homes that people can be proud of.
“This award is recognition of the high standards we all work to and the pride we take in getting things right.”
Dan Heathcote, Managing Director for Persimmon Homes South West, added:
“We’re delighted for Mark and the team at Mill Gardens. This award is testament to the hard work, quality, and professionalism that Mark brings to the site every day.
