As the most romantic day of the year is fast approaching, holiday cottage company, Lyme Bay Holidays, have analysed data to find the UK’s most romantic destination.

Devon has featured in third place based on four different metrics:romantic activities, romantic restaurants, Google searches for proposal ideas and features in wedding hashtags on Instagram.

Whether it’s watching the sunset together at Croyde Bay and taking a romantic walk on the beach or perhaps hiking through the rugged and romantic Dartmoor landscape together it’s easy to see why Devon is ranked so highly.

The data has also cemented the south coast as a romantic destination in general as Cornwall, Dorset, Somerset, Kent and Bristol all feature in the top ten alongside Devon. The Most Romantic Places in the UK
