Calling all Sea Monsters: The Lost Pearl of Plymouth needs you!
Organisers behind the highly anticipated Plymouth digital adventure, Resurgam, are giving people an opportunity to be part of the game which entwines technology with spectacular immersive theatre.
The new, innovative mobile location-based game, which challenges players to hunt The Lost Pearl of Plymouth, using only a mobile phone and an app to help them, is heading to the city in September and needs the help of 100 extras to augment the experience and ensure the pearl is found.
Resurgam is an adventure quest fraught with peril and designed to get hearts pounding and minds whirring. The extras are needed to make the experience as visceral and cinematic as possible so players feel like Indiana Jones or Lara Croft at the heart of their own supernatural action-adventure movie.
Taking on a ‘game maker’ role, similar to those at the London 2012 Olympics, the extras will be briefed on how to become part of the adventure and assist the production of the show.
Extras can play sea monsters, marshall performance zones and act as production assistants. There will be opportunities to dress up, be provided with professional make-up, performance training and equipment and be an important part of bringing this incredible citywide adventure to life.
Extras who are interested in being part of this new type of entertainment must be over 18 and available September 13-15 for rehearsals with Rogue Theatre and September 21-22 for the live event. To take part send an email to: info@resurgamthegame.co.uk with a brief paragraph on why you are interested in taking part.
Participants, who have purchased tickets, will start their adventure from a secret city centre location and be led on a supernatural hunt that will culminate in a final performance and live music on board a ghost ship at the Royal William Yard.
There are still tickets available for various stages of the game and those who wish to play along are encouraged to book now to avoid disappointment. Tickets can be purchased from the website: www.resurgamthegame.co.uk
