The National Trust, who care for Agatha Christie’s holiday home Greenway near Brixham, are hosting two drop-in afternoons as they hunt for new volunteers to help look after two country houses.

Come along and discover what being a National Trust volunteer looks like on Saturday 1 April at Coleton Fishacre and Sunday 2 April at Greenway, between 2.30pm and 4.30pm.

There’s a range of opportunities for people willing to learn new skills and knowledge while inspiring others.

Senior Volunteering and Community Officer, Laura said “Coleton Fishacre and Greenway are incredible places to volunteer, with very different offers. From caring for a 1920s Arts and Crafts house with RHS accredited garden to looking after Agatha Christie’s holiday home, whatever your interest or enthusiasm there’s sure to be something to spark your interest.”

“There’s no need to book the drop-in afternoon sessions in advance, simply come in at any time between 2.30pm and 4.30pm to find out more and see how you can get involved.”

She added that in particular, they were looking for afternoon house experience volunteers to share stories with visitors about the people who lived at both Coleton Fishacre and Greenway, as well as the objects and artworks in the collection.

Greenway is also looking for courtesy car volunteer drivers to help visitors have an enjoyable and memorable visit when travelling by ferry, as well as people to give their time and knowledge to lead garden tours as garden guide volunteers.

Entry to the volunteer recruitment afternoons on Saturday 1 April and Sunday 2 April is free and all are welcome. For more information, contact Senior Volunteering and Community Officer Laura on emailLaura.Cooper@nationaltrust.org.uk
