Bonfire night set to go off with a bang

Bonfire night celebrations are set to go off with a huge bang on Plymouth Hoe tonight (5 Nov) =, and what a firecracker of an evening there is planned!

Organised by Plymouth City Council there will be plenty to keep visitors entertained as the light fades across the city. The event will start at 4pm with fairground rides for all the family and a fantastic selection of food and drink stalls.

Live entertainment in the form of dancers and local artists will provide the soundtrack to what is set to be a great night of family fun.

Heart FM presenters Matt and Caroline will be hosting an evening of performances on the stage from 5.45pm on the stage which will be located on the grassed area near the Royal Citadel.

Local artists and dancers will keep everyone entertained; On stage at 6pm are Street Factory followed by Stage Stars at 6.30pm and The Vibes at 7pm.

The bonfire, provided this year by Babcock, will be lit at 7.30pm near Smeaton's Tower to illuminate the night sky. Children from Widewell Primary School have been busy making a Guy Fawkes which will sit on the top.

A spectacular firework display by Pyrovision will be setting off an assortment of rockets, fountains and firecrackers from the Royal Citadel at 8pm.

The Sugar Thieves will take to the stage following the firework display at 8.20pm. Entertainment will continue until 9pm.

With so much going on this year on Plymouth Hoe it’s sure to be a night filled with plenty of oooooh’s and aaaaah’s!!
