Bishop Nick will be welcomed as the new Bishop of Plymouth at a special service this Sunday 19 April, 4pm in St Andrew’s Church, Plymouth, to which all are welcome.

Prior to being Bishop of Crediton, Bishop Nick was Rector at St Andrews in Plymouth and so will be welcomed back warmly by all those who already know him.

Before that he was for seven years Rector of Hatherleigh in Totnes Archdeaconry and so knows both the city and the archdeaconries of Totnes and Plymouth which is the area that he will oversee.

Bishop Robert said of the appointment, “Bishop Nick is held in considerable affection across the Diocese and will bring to this new appointment his own distinctive brand of warmth and wisdom. He combines an instinctive feel for the art of the possible with a commitment to Christ and to mission which will serve Plymouth well.”

Bishop Nick’s translation means that a new Bishop of Crediton will be appointed. An announcement is due in the summer.
