A recruitment drive is underway to help a five-star Devon hotel meet rising demand from holidaymakers during the peak summer season.

Around 25 positions are available at Bovey Castle in Dartmoor National Park, with the hotel set to attract around 6,000 visitors between June and August.

Vacancies range from housekeeping and restaurant, through to reception and porter roles, and will run until the end of September, with the potential of further opportunities thereafter.

Bovey Castle is one of Devon’s premier tourist destinations. Alongside the 65-bedroom manor house and 22 private lodges, the venue boasts an array of activities ranging from archery and air rifle shooting, through to 4x4 off road driving and a championship golf course.

The resort is part of The Eden Hotel Collection, which has recently invested £1.5 million to secure a mixture of 15 one to three-bedroom cottages for Bovey Castle employees, in addition to its existing staff accommodation.

Dean Gunston is the General Manager at Bovey Castle and leads a 175-strong team.

He said: “Working at Bovey Castle is an experience like no other. Not only do you get to work in picturesque surroundings at a hotel that has recently been named as the best in the South West, but you also get to be part of a great team that has colleague wellbeing at its heart with fun recognition schemes, financial rewards and lots of training and development opportunities.

“Although the roles only run until September, they present a fantastic opportunity for those wanting to build a career in hospitality to make their mark and impress – and potentially secure a longer-term role with us – as we have seen in previous years.

“In a bid to be as inclusive as possible, we have invested significantly in both our on-site staff accommodation so that those who live further afield who don’t wish to travel every day can also apply, along with stunning staff rest and break areas.”
