15-year-old boy robbed of sports top in Tavistock

Police are investigating after a 15-year-old boy was robbed of a sports top in a Tavistock street.

The boy, from Tavistock, was walking along Plymouth Road close to the primary school on Tuesday afternoon (30 July) when he was approached from behind by a man who tried to grab his sports holdall.

The victim was knocked to the ground with force and the offender ran off towards Callington Road with an Umbro referee tracksuit top that was on top of the bag.

The stolen top, valued at £33, is distinctive. It is an Umbro referee long sleeved tracksuit top; the lower midriff and sleeves are black while the upper chest and shoulder area is white. It carries a black Umbro motif on the chest.

Police are appealing for information about the robbery which happened around 4.20pm and would like to speak to anyone who saw the robbery or the suspect.

He is described as white, around 6ft tall, of slim build and he was wearing a black hoody with McKenzie logo across the chest in yellow letters, a black cap with a white peak, navy blue jeans and black trainers.
