Raffle raises funds for Primrose Breast Care Centre

A special thank you to Hair Flair salon in Yealmpton, who have kindly donated to a charity close to their hearts.

Members of staff from Hair Flair salon in Yealmpton, presented a cheque to the Primrose Breast Care Centre at Derriford Hospital, after a stylist received treatment throughout 2015.

Every year, the salon organises a Christmas raffle to support a charity of their choice, and this year, the Primrose Breast Care Unit was chosen. After receiving prizes from members of staff, the local post office and other local businesses, customers generously donated and raised an amazing total of £360.40.

Joanne Inglis-Faulkner, salon owner, said: “As a team, we are very pleased that a good amount was raised for a brilliant cause. It is something that we all might need in the future, whether it is for yourself or a loved one, so we are glad that we could help."

Lucille Richmond, Lead Radiographer – Breast Imaging, said: “I would like to say thank you to the staff at the Hair Flair salon for their kind donation to the charity fund. Donations such as this contribute to the funding of staff training and also provides extras for the department - all of which help to improve the patients experience and the facilities in the Primrose
