Alzheimer’s Society is urging fundraisers in Devon to take on a new challenge in 2022 and join hundreds of people walking to stop dementia in its tracks at Trek26 South Devon Coast. By signing up to a 13 or 26-mile trek across the breath-taking countryside on 10 September avid hikers and beginners alike can experience the coastline like they’ve never seen it before.

Both the 13-mile and 26-mile routes will start and finish at Steam Fields just outside Brixham and follow a route that is almost entirely along the South West Coastal Path. Walkers will take in incredible views out across the sea throughout the route including views of bustling Brixham Harbour, the River Dart Estuary and Dartmouth.

There’s never been a more important time for Devon residents to don their walking boots and go the distance to raise vital funds for life-changing dementia support. Alzheimer’s Society’s services, including the Dementia Connect support line, have been used over six million times since the start of the pandemic but too many people in Devon are still facing dementia alone. Money raised from Trek26 South Devon Coast will help ensure that Alzheimer’s Society can reach those who need it most.

Dates:

  • 16 July 2022: Cotswolds
  • 3 September 2022: Stonehenge
  • 10 September 2022: South Devon Coast
