Tucked away amongst 80 acres of Devon countryside, off the beaten track near Dawlish is an award-winning holiday park loved by holiday makers and local day trippers alike. Cofton Holidays is an eco friendly tourist destination run by a local Devon family. Their many years of dedication to creating a great visitor experience at the site has just been recognised with two prestigious awards at the Devon Tourism Awards that took place at the Riviera Conference Centre in Torquay last week.

Facing stiff competition from businesses across Devon, Cofton Holidays celebrated great success and was awarded Silver for Holiday Park Of The Year, and Bronze for Self Catering Accommodation Of The Year. They will now be fast tracked into the South West Tourism Excellence Awards which will take place in March 2024 - pitting them against competitors from across the wider region.

2023 has been a great year for Cofton Holidays, with a lot of changes on site. Some of the new attractions across the 80 acre green site that may have contributed to the judges decision to include them in Holiday Park Of The Year include the exciting new forest themed splash pad where kids can run wild, the newly launched Beauty Room offering indulgent massages and beauty treatments and the state of the art Gym which has had it’s own recent makeover.

Accommodation at the site ranges from leafy camping pitches to luxurious hot tub lodges - with brand new eco lodges having been recently built it is no wonder that the judges recognised the excellence of Cofton Holidays self catering accommodation.

Helen Scott, Director said: “We are over the moon to have been recognised at the Devon Tourism Awards, and now we have our fingers crossed for success in the South West Tourism Excellence Awards. Our team put a lot of hard work into keeping the holiday park running at a very high standard all year round - even as we come into Winter we are prepping our cosy cottages and organising cold weather activities!

"Alongside the family who own the business we employ over 150 local people, and it’s a whole team effort to create a relaxing, seamless experience for our guests. Winning the Devon Tourism Awards give us all a boost and a pat on the back after a busy Summer season.”

For over 40 years the Jeffery Family have owned Cofton Holidays. Locals can visit for the day for a relaxing session at the steam room and sauna, unwind with a swim in the heated pool or dine at Amelia’s Cafe & Restaurant.

For those looking for a bit more adventure, there’s a high ropes course, pump track, pond dipping and woodland walks. The eco-friendly site also offers lodges, cottages, caravans and camping so guests can make a weekend of it or have a midweek staycation and a get a dose of the countryside all through the Winter. The site celebrates the Devon countryside, offering guests a stay amongst nature, a short hop to the famous South West Coast Path and Devon’s peaceful beaches.
