Has spring sprung in your garden?

If your Plymouth garden is springing forth with a seasonal splash of colour despite the wintry weather, you could show it off with the Plymouth in Bloom spring garden competition.

The competition is being run in conjunction with Plymouth City Council who are encouraging people to get involved: "Just fill out the entry form and judges will pop round to take a look at your gardens or floral displays."

Councillor Brian Vincent, Cabinet member for Environment said: “This is a lovely time of year with all of the spring flowers blooming and bringing a bit of colour into our gardens. Some people have been working really hard and have some wonderful displays.”

Bernard Todkill, chairman of the Plymouth in Bloom committee added: “If you’ve got a little bit of spring colour in your garden now’s your chance to show off your tulips, daffodils and pansies and you could win a trophy.”

Entries close on 3 May 2013 and judging will begin the following week. The winners will get a trophy and a small prize.

Just go to www.plymouth.gov.uk/bloom or find entry forms at libraries, Council buildings, Plymouth Garden Centre, Endsleigh Garden Centre and Plants Galore.
