Sunday Rover ticket offers unlimited travel to Dartmoor

The popular Dartmoor Sunday Rover ticket will be available again throughout this summer, starting from this weekend.

The ticket enables people to enjoy the benefits of unlimited travel on bus and rail services linking to Dartmoor and the surrounding area every Sunday until mid September.

The ticket is valid on the following services:

  • All Stagecoach South West buses in Devon
  • First bus services 48,  X80, X81, 86, 90, 93, 187 and X53 between Exeter and Weymouth
  • Western Greyhound services 510, 572, 576, 593 and 599
  • Dartline 82
  • Beacon Bus 118
  • First Great Western Tamar Valley Line trains between Plymouth and Gunnislake
  • Tarka Line trains between Barnstaple, Exeter and Digby & Sowton.
  • Dartmoor Line trains between St James Park and Okehampton.

The Sunday Rover ticket is valid all day and costs just £8 for adults, £5.50 for children (5-15 years) or £17 for a family (up to 2 adults and 3 children). You can buy your ticket from the driver of any of the buses shown above, as well as at Plymouth, Barnstaple or Exeter railway stations, or from the conductor on Tamar Valley or Tarka Line trains.

Councillor Andrew Leadbetter, Devon County Council Cabinet Member for Economy and Growth, said: “This service is always popular with visitors and locals alike who are looking for a good value day out in Devon. It’s a great way to explore and enjoy Dartmoor National Park without having to rely on the car, and it attracts people to the local businesses and shops on Dartmoor.”

The ticket is available on any Summer Sunday between 26 May and 15 September 2013, as well as the Bank Holidays on Monday 27 May and Monday 26 August.
