Aer Lingus launches a brand-new transatlantic route to Pittsburgh
Aer Lingus is expanding its transatlantic network with a brand-new route launching next year. From 25th May 2026, the airline will commence a new service to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Customers flying from the UK to Pittsburgh can conveniently connect at Dublin from 13 UK airports including: Exeter, Cornwall Airport Newquay, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Leeds Bradford, Newcastle, Southampton, Liverpool John Lennon, Isle of Man and London Heathrow.
By connecting in Dublin, UK customers can avail of Dublin Airport’s unique U.S. preclearance facility, which allows passengers bound for the United States to complete immigration and customs procedures before departure. Upon arrival stateside, they are treated as domestic passengers, ensuring a smooth and efficient travel experience.
This new route builds on Aer Lingus’ connection to Pittsburgh, where it serves as an Official Airline Partner to the legendary Pittsburgh Steelers. Operating on an Airbus A321neoLR, the Aer Lingus nonstop flight offers dual class seats, including 16 business class seats with lie-flat seating. All customers flying across the Atlantic with Aer Lingus also enjoy complimentary meals and refreshments, as well as an extensive inflight entertainment offering.
Commenting on the new transatlantic route, Pittsburgh International Airport CEO Christina Cassotis said: “The Pittsburgh region’s connections to Ireland run deep – both in today’s strong business market and ancestral ties – and this is a route that community leaders have been seeking. We are thrilled to have a partner in Aer Lingus that will serve Pittsburgh’s growing market for nonstop service to Ireland and beyond, and we look forward to welcoming even more European travelers to Pittsburgh.”
Susanne Carberry, Chief Customer Officer, Aer Lingus said: “Aer Lingus is particularly pleased to add Pittsburgh to our transatlantic network, having worked closely with partners in the region to make this a possibility.
“This route builds on our strong partnership with the Pittsburgh Steelers and further cements Aer Lingus’ position as a leading transatlantic carrier. Through its Dublin hub, Aer Lingus provides convenient connections that link Pittsburgh with over 30 destinations across Europe and the UK.”
