New Wellness Retreats at Soar Mill Cove Hotel, South Devon

Soar Mill Cove Hotel, offering the epitome of comfort and luxury against the staggering backdrop of the South Devon coast, has announced the introduction of a series of new wellness retreats, with its first Winter Wellness Day taking place on Sunday, February 25th.

Set in a quiet valley at the end of a lane to nowhere, just a short walk from a hidden and secluded beach and the South West Coast Path, Soar Mill Cove Hotel offers one of the most idyllic spots for an unforgettable restorative retreat immersed in Devon’s awe inspiring scenery. With only the sound of the waves and birdsong, this privately owned hotel is a place for those who love the peace and tranquillity of an utterly stunning location.

The retreats are open to people of all abilities and ages, with the promise that new friendships will be forged, laughing and fun will be shared and participants will feel stronger, more energised and connected to their own bodies and to nature.

The day begins with coffee and a chat, followed by a team building session. Focusing on strength and conditioning, Kat Wallace a personal trainer and fitness instructor, will incorporate a fun and teamwork ethos into her session.

After a coffee and a healthy snack, there will be a  group walk exploring the cove and taking in the breathtaking scenery of this part of South Devon.

A nourishing ‘wellness’ themed lunch is followed by Life and Mindset coach Kate Hurst who will lead a coaching session of themed activities. Following this, light refreshments and some alone time will allow participants to stop and enjoy the views through the picture windows from the comfort of the hotel, and take time to absorb what they have learned from their coaching session.

The day concludes with a relaxing pilates wind-down session with Lara Christopher, a professional trainer whose mantra is ‘where joy meets movement.’

The retreat costs £149 per person. To reserve your place, please call 01548 561566.

Soar Mill Cove Hotel is renowned as a place for families, couples, and those who enjoy walking. It offers a Discovery Spa with Temple Spa treatments, a heated indoor salt-water pool, gym facilities, and a sauna. There’s also a grass tennis court, a grassed play area for children, and a wash-down area and kitchenette for those who bring their dogs.

The hotel offers a range of sea-facing rooms featuring patio doors opening onto sun-soaked wooden decks with wicker loungers. There are family suites, rooms for couples, and two self-catering villas for larger groups.

Set back from the sea in a valley, the hotel’s location has a secret and exclusive feel. A 10-minute walk through the fields leads you to Soar Mill Cove itself, which is sandy, with shallow swimming and rock pooling possible at low tide. From there, you can strike out on one of the most spectacular sections of Devon’s South West Coast Path to Salcombe, or northwest to Hope Cove. For the less energetic, Salcombe is a 10-minute drive away.

The main restaurant offers modern British cuisine with a focus on local seafood and meats. A smaller dog-friendly restaurant and a lounge with wicker swing seats provide additional dining options. The hotel's champagne bar caters to those with more spirited tastes.

Soar Mill Cove Hotel is a haven for families. A games room, grass tennis court, and playground cater to all ages. Complimentary use of various recreational equipment adds to the family-friendly appeal.
