Morpheus8 is the latest non-surgical treatment that is seeing an increase in demand after some great results were shown by Judy Murray. If you're looking to undergo this treatment, here are some things you should know before going in for a consultation.

How does it work?

Morpheus8 is a fractional needling and radiofrequency remodelling device that works by injecting tiny needles into your skin. During the treatment, these needles will be penetrated into the deeper dermal and subdermal layers of the skin; they are then boosted with a power of radiofrequency energy. The radiofrequency energy will piece through the skin in a controlled technique which will aid the stimulation of new collagen and elastin production.

After the treatment, there would be minimal downtime, and it is normal for you to expect a few marks or redness this can last up to 5 days but will be minimal. The skin may begin to peel, which is completely normal. During this healing process, you will be given aftercare advice from your clinic, but mainly, you should avoid sunlight, use sunscreen with a high SPF and avoid applying any creams for 24 hours unless advised otherwise.

Is Morpheus8 painful?

Before the treatment, an anaesthetic will be applied to help with discomfort. The treatment is not painful, but there are some sensations that can be associated with this. You can speak to your doctor or practitioner regarding the pain and managing pain levels if you are worried. The sensation may be similar to that of a prick and warmth, but this can vary from client to client.

What can Morpheus8 treat?

Morpheus8 is a skin tightening and micro-needling treatment it can help with a variety of conditions, but the primary targets would be:

- Fine Lines

- Wrinkles

- Acne Scars

- Stretch Marks

- Skin Rejuvenation

The Morpheus8 can be treated on a range of body areas from the face, neck, chest, arms, legs, abdomen, and buttocks.

Who is Morpheus8 suitable for?

Morpheus8 is suitable for all skin types, and this is one of the only RF devices that is available for darker skin tones. The ideal candidate for Morpheus8 is anyone between 30 and 55 who is looking to improve signs of ageing. Those with other conditions mentioned above are also suitable candidates. Everyone should have a consultation before undergoing this procedure otherwise, it may carry risks if performed incorrectly.

How many treatments are required?

The number of treatments required for Morpheus8 can not be predicted without consultation and would depend on your skin goals. A treatment plan of 1-6 treatments could be required with 4-6 week gaps to see optimal results, and additional treatments may be required to achieve your end goal. Clients can expect to notice improvements and results a few days after the healing process, but optimal results can be seen up to 6 months post-treatment when new collagen and elastin have fully developed.

Before starting any treatment, ensure you do your research into the clinic and have a consultation with a doctor to go through the procedure and your medical history and ensure the treatment will be safe and effective for you.
