The morning event, due to be opened by Derriford Hospital Uro-Gynae Consultant

Anupreet Dua, will include sessions about pelvic floor exercises; incontinence pads and skin care and group discussions of bladder and bowel training and diet.

Ann Cornelius, Pelvic Floor Nurse, Colorectal services said: “We will be aiming to give people practical advice for helping to manage issues such as constipation, diarrhoea, bladder frequency and urgency. We will give participants a questionnaire to see what they want to talk about at future BABEs.

“Often people cannot talk to other people about the problem because they are embarrassed, but sometimes some very simple advice can help alleviate symptoms which are causing significant upset to the individual concerned.”
