Vote now in the Plymouth Food Awards

The 2013 Plymouth Food Awards are now open for public voting. Food Plymouth wants local people to vote for the best organisations and personalities bringing affordable, fresh, seasonal, local and organic food to Plymouth and the surrounding area.

Now in their third year, the Awards have been created to celebrate some of the extraordinary efforts, skills and achievements of those bringing delicious healthy and sustainable food to people in Plymouth, supporting the aims of the Plymouth Food Charter.

Visit Food Plymouth’s website to look at the nominations across all the categories of Best Producer, Best Local Food Product, Best Restaurant or Café, Best School, Community Food Award and Most Sustainable Food Business, and to vote for your favourites.

The Awards are sponsored by Tamar View Fruiterers, Plymouth University, Food Smiths, Devon Contract Waste, Plymouth Community Health Care and Food is Fun.

David Barrett, owner of Tamar View Fruiterers, said: "We are really pleased to be sponsoring the Plymouth Food Awards again, it is great that there are so many quality nominations for the many excellent food producers and restaurants, along with the schools and community groups that all help to make Plymouth so special!"

Traci Lewis, Food Plymouth Coordinator said: "The range and quality of this year’s nominations reflect the inspirational work taking place across our city and recognise people, businesses and organisations behind some of the great food being enjoyed in Plymouth today.

"To increase the reach of the Awards, this year voting will take place throughout August and also at Flavour Fest, with presentations to take place at a special event at the National Marine Aquarium on 20 September during the Marine City Festival".
