Roly’s Fudge Opens New Pantry in Tavistock
Roly’s Fudge, the much-loved artisan fudge brand, is delighted to announce the opening of its new fudge pantry in Tavistock. The new pantry will not only serve its famous handmade fudge but will also become the official home of Roly’s Fudge Sauce. The honour of declaring the shop open fell to the Mayor of Tavistock, Steve Hipsey, who joined well-wishers in celebrating the arrival of the new venture.
Husband and wife team Matt and Shelley Pugh are behind the launch of the Tavistock pantry, their fifth store to date, further expanding their successful family-run business. Alongside the couple’s existing locations, their son also runs a thriving Roly’s Fudge pantry in Bude. The Tavistock pantry has partnered with Tamar Valley Dairy Company, who are proudly supplying the shop with fresh local whole milk.
What makes the new Tavistock pantry truly unique is the live theatre of fudge sauce making. Roly’s Fudge offers delicious, indulgent fudge sauce that will now be crafted directly in-store, moving from a hidden back-room process to centre stage. Visitors will be able to watch the sauce-making in action, with the machinery and process showcased behind a clear viewing area adding a new sensory experience for customers and a key brand moment for Roly’s Fudge.
In another first for Roly’s Fudge, the Tavistock pantry will feature a ‘double fudge slab’ in the shop window, allowing two different fudge flavours to be made side-by-side for everyone passing by to enjoy, a true feast for the eyes.
Matt Pugh, owner of Roly’s Fudge Tavistock as well as Salcombe, Plymouth Looe and Dartmouth pantries has said: “We’re so excited to bring Roly’s Fudge to Tavistock and create something extra special here. Fudge making has always been at the heart of what we do, but now we can share the magic of our fudge sauce too. It’s such a unique part of our business, and Tavistock feels like the perfect place to make it a star in its own right.” The traditional craft, carried out in the shop window, has quickly become a talking point and an attraction for visitors and locals alike.
Commenting on the opening, Steve Hipsey, the Mayor of Tavistock said: “The opening brings good news for Tavistock’s high street, adding character and interest, and with the prospect of local employment too, it has been warmly welcomed.” The pantry is located at 86-87 West Street, one of Tavistock’s most iconic buildings.
Dannee McGuire, Director of Roly’s Fudge, added: “The Tavistock store marks a new chapter for Roly’s Fudge. By making it the official ‘Home of Roly’s Fudge Sauce’, we’re not only expanding our production but also inviting customers to be part of the process. It’s about creating an immersive, memorable experience that celebrates everything we love about fudge and the joy it brings.”
The new Roly’s Fudge pantry offers fresh fudge made daily, decadent fudge sauces, and the warm, welcoming atmosphere the brand is famous for.
