Two of Devon’s most celebrated, artisan food producers have joined forces to create a new range of fiery gourmet pies. Available in the delicious flavours Tikka Tarka and Lady Naga, these novel pies are bursting with carefully blended spices guaranteed to get your taste buds tingling. A contemporary take on two traditional favourites, Okehampton’s Okemoor along with curry specialists, Boom Kitchen have created the perfect marriage between two of the nation’s most popular dishes. Not only are these pies delicious, they have just been awarded the highly commended Taste of the West Gold and Silver awards.

Packed with flavour, the Gold award winning Boom Tikka Tarka curry pie handmade by Okemoor uses the finest ingredients. Rich, indulgent golden pastry encases a luxurious, thick and creamy sauce packed with ground coconut and almonds and generous portions of succulent chicken breast. This mild to medium delicacy uses Braunton based Boom Kitchen’s expertly developed marinade and spice mixes including fenugreek, turmeric, paprika, cumin and many more, all of which combined give a truly unique tasting pie. The finishing touch is a delicate sprinkling of coriander and coconut.

For those after a little more heat, Boom Lady Naga curry pie handmade by Okemoor is the one. Aptly named after the famous Naga Jolokia Chilli which is renowned for its heat, this tasty, Silver award winning pie uses top quality West Country chuck steak beef with spinach, onions and tomatoes, as well as Boom Kitchen’s own spice mix laced with Kashmiri chilli. Boasting a fabulous depth of flavour, this scrumptious pie is crafted using the finest fresh West Country ingredients, with no E numbers or preservatives and is guaranteed to leave you feeling hot. Available as individual portion pies in a 4" size (rrp £3.60), they are perfect eaten either hot or cold and will liven up any picnic, walk, lunch box or evening meal. These delectable pies can be purchased direct from Okemoor online at www.okemoor.co.uk and well-known independents, delis and farm shops across the region.

Based on the northern edge of Dartmoor National Park, Okemoor was first established 25 years ago and bought by Ray Wilson and Lynda McKenzie in 2001 and has been producing wonderful tasting artisan fresh food ever since. Over the years Okemoor has won numerous awards for their hand-raised savoury pies, enjoyable quiches, indulgent cakes and cheesecakes, and exquisite tarts. All of which are available online from their recently launched new website www.okemoor.co.uk.

Founded by friends Carl Anderson and James Doel, Devon-based Boom Kitchen produce curry kits for restaurants, pubs and retail outlets. After selling their first curry kits in July 2013, Boom Kitchen really burst onto the scene in 2014 winning Taste of The West’s most innovative Food and Drink Product and a haul of Taste of the West awards for their 5 recipes (3 gold and 2 silver). Currently their range consists of Indian curry kits including Boom Korma, Boom Bhuna, Boom Lady Naga, Boom Jalfrezi and Tikka Tarka Masala, with Sri-Lankan, Thai and Indonesian kits planned for the future.
