The “Rockfish Cream Tea” – which way is up?
The new Rockfish desserts for their summer menu include the sort of thing that makes a perfect finale to a good seafood lunch by the seaside, with a Pimms ice lolly, a lemon sorbet with a shot of Limoncello on it to transport you to the Amalfi coast and a classic peach melba.
But there’s one dessert that is bound to get a few people talking as much as eating it; fresh fried doughnuts, cut in half like a scone and topped with jam then cream, The Rockfish Fried Cream Tea.
These nuggets of gluten free deliciousness are available just in time for Wimbledon lovers to get their strawberry fix but may cause some arguments around the table depending on whether you are Cornish or Devonian! The Queen reportedly has scones with jam on first, topped with cream and the papers took that as a sign of her approval of the Cornish way.
Mitch said, “We didn’t design this with debate in mind but with taste and it’s hard to beat a freshly fried doughnut, sliced and sandwiched with cream and jam. Which way up you eat it is up to you!”
Group head chef Kirk Gosden said, “This is a must at Rockfish this summer, a unique and fun spin on this classic South West favourite”.
The dessert is gluten free. Rockfish offers everything on it’s menu gluten free too.
