Devon Wildlife Trust has announced the opening of geocache trails at two of its most popular nature reserves.

Geocaching is an outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices (Global Positioning System). Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the small geocache (container) hidden at that location.

Thirteen geocaches have been placed at Meeth Quarry nature reserve and its neighbour Ashmoor nature reserve, both near Great Torrington. While a small trail of three geocaches has been placed at Dunsdon National Nature Reserve, near Holsworthy.

All the geocaches were placed on easily accessible parts of the nature reserves and have been done so that minimal disturbance to wildlife is assured.

People wishing to find the caches should first visit the geocache section of the DWT website www.devonwildlifetrust.org
