Theatre Royal Plymouth will be presenting seven plays by ten different schools and young theatre groups as part of Connections, the National Theatre’s annual festival of new plays for youth theatre and schools from Tuesday 24 – Saturday 28 March.

Every year brand new plays are written exclusively for Connections by some of theatre’s most exciting playwrights, giving over 5000 young people aged 13 – 19 all over the country access to the best new writing for theatre.

This year, the National Theatre is working with 300 youth theatres and schools to stage 10 fantastic plays. The young companies get to transfer their production to one of Connections’ 40 Partner Theatres across the UK. Those transferring to Theatre Royal Plymouth will be staging their shows in The Drum.

Connections is produced by the National Theatre and supported by a number of individuals, trusts and foundations.

Connections plays are commissioned for and about young people from some of the best contemporary playwrights, for performance by schools and youth theatres all over the UK, making Connections one of the world’s largest celebrations of youth theatre.
