Ground control to Major John! Strap yourselves in, set doors to manual and cross check, the new John Bishop national tour is preparing for take off! The countdown is on for the launch of John Bishop’s latest national comedy caper. After taking eighteen months off to write his autobiography John is limbering up for his next arena mission, and will be zooming into Plymouth Pavilions next Autumn from Wednesday 22 – Friday 24 October 2014. Set the controls for the heart of the fun!

His brand new show Supersonic will be smashing through comedy MACH 3. Get ready for a comic boom of guffaws all the way from Plymouth to Glasgow via Dublin and back again. So – grab your ticket, sit back and prepare for maximum comedy G force!

John is delighted to be getting his stage suit out of the wardrobe again after months wearing out quill after quill putting together his autobiography. John said, “Stand up is the reason my career is what it is today and I’ve had time to reflect on that this past year. I love the immediacy of stand up and I feel a real closeness to my audience whilst on stage. I love nothing more than giving them a laugh and I can’t wait to get back out on the road. My family also can’t wait as I am driving them all mad at home now that I’ve written my book.”

Last year John performed to 500,000 people in his sell-out Rollercoaster tour. With its massive helter skelter set and surprise finale the DVD of that show went on to top the charts. This time he is pouring even more rocket fuel into the tank in an attempt to exceed last year’s excitements. This time he is guaranteed to take you to even higher heights!

However, before we even get on to the runway with Supersonic John has an appointment with Her Majesty when he will be hosting the Royal Variety Show before Christmas and also hosting his own TV Special on Boxing Day. Before this John starred in John Bishop’s Britain (BBC1) and John Bishop’s Only Joking (Sky1). He cycled, rowed and ran from Paris to London in his one-off special for Sport Relief John Bishop’s Week of Hell (BBC1), and has been a regular on Sky One’s A League of their Own as well as hosting Live at the Apollo. He also created, wrote and starred in Panto! which aired on ITV1, Christmas 2012. Shortly before this, John took the reins as director and star of his own comedy drama as part of Sky One’s Little Cracker season. Adding another string to his bow, John has also worked as an actor under the direction of Ken Loach in Route Irish and the critically acclaimed Jimmy McGovern’s series Accused.
