The principal of Ridgeway School in Plympton has been nominated for The Herald’s Splash competition.

Lisa Boorman now needs as many votes as possible before March 12 to join the competition.

Nominees who get enough votes will train with Tom Daley’s coach, Andy Banks and be in the Plymouth version of the successful ITV show, Splash. The contest will involve school teachers around the city training with Andy on the famous boards at the Life Centre, before facing off in front of an audience in the summer.
Voting has already started and Lisa’s supporters are urging people to get the voting slips from The Evening Herald and fill them in.

“Look in your recycling bin, ask friends, neighbours and colleagues for their copies of the Herald and fill then in and drop them into reception at school” said Jeanne-Marie Madderson, a teacher from Ridgeway School. “It’s the top 10 highest votes across the city that will get through.”

The next couple of weeks will be a waiting game for Lisa to see if she’s received enough votes.

“It’s exciting and scary all at the same time,” said Lisa. “It’s a fantastic opportunity and if I do get through to the competition I will give it 1
